The artist, publishing works from this series, encountered public rejection of the Albasty image. In the traditional consciousness, juxtaposing traditional Kazakh dress and bare breasts is equated with a shameful act, a form of embarrassment. Uyatka's cabinet (translated from Kazakh as "Uyat"—"shame") coyly conceals something that can only be glimpsed discreetly after guests have left.
